Wiperblades.co.uk-backed Team VERTU Primed For 2025 BTCC Opener

Wiperblades.co.uk-backed Team VERTU has its sights set firmly on swiping the big trophies at this weekend’s 2025 British Touring Car Championship season opener at Donington Park.

The Kent-based wiper blades supply company – trusted by over a million customers - lends its support to Excelr8 Motorsport, which competes under the Team VERTU banner, for the first time in 2025

As part of the agreement, Wiperblades.co.uk branding will be visible on the team’s Hyundai i30 N Fastbacks, to be campaigned this year by 2022 BTCC Champion Tom Ingram, seasoned race winners Tom Chilton and Adam Morgan, plus new signing Michael Crees.

Runner-up in 2023 and 2024, Ingram begins the season as one of the primary title contenders. Moreover, both he and the team have enjoyed a strong record around the Leicestershire circuit in recent years.

“I feel we’re in a strong position going into the new season on the back of a really positive testing programme,” he said.

“We’ve gone well at Donington Park in recent seasons and I’m confident that we are going to be right in the mix again this time around. My only target this season is to reclaim the title, and a victory would be a great way to start.”

Team VERTU owner Justina Williams feels the team is in a strong position heading into the curtain raiser following positive results in pre-season testing.

“This promises to be another hugely exciting season with the regulation changes we have seen, and I feel we are in good shape after a busy winter developing the cars.

“Nobody stands still in this series, so it’s been vital to look at every possible way we can maximise the performance of our car, and the signs are all positive based on how winter testing has gone.

“Of course, Donington Park is where we’ll really see where we stand when the serious action gets underway but we are going there to fight for race wins and are keen to lay down an early marker in the championship race.”

Donington Park represents the first of ten events that will make up the 30-race 2025 BTCC calendar.
