How to Fit Conventional Wiper Blades

Please see below our video on how to remove and fit Conventional type Wiper Blades. If you still experience problems fitting your wiper blades please email us at help@wiperblades.co.uk or call us during office hours on 01299 251130.

Removing your old wiper

  1. Remove your old wiper by lifting it into a standing position. If the bonnet restricts lifting, switch the ignition on and turn on your wipers, then turn it off when they are raised upwards.
  2. Rotate the wiper blade to form a ‘T’ shape.
  3. Press down any retaining clip on the adaptor in the direction of the wiper arm and pull the wiper blade downwards.

Don’t leave the wiper arm in the upright position, as this could spring back and damage your windscreen. Instead, gently lower it against the windscreen or place a cloth over it for protection.

Fitting your new wiper

  1. Rotate the adaptor on your new wiper blade to 90 degrees.
  2. Turn it upside down and thread the wiper arm hook through the wiper blade. Pull it back up so that the adaptor locates within the hook.
  3. Rotate the wiper blade to form a ‘T’ shape.
  4. Pull upwards to ensure the adaptor is fully located within the wiper arm hook.
  5. Check that your new wiper blades operate correctly.
