A Guide to Fitting Your Rear Wiper Blades
If you’ve read our previous article on how to fit your wiper blades, you may have had one lingering question. Is the process the same for fitting your rear wipers?
That’s why we’ve created an article specifically on fitting new rear wiper blades to help. So, let’s get to it!
How to fit rear wiper blades step-by-step
When it comes to installing rear wiper blades, the process isn’t actually that different from replacing your front ones. Here are the steps you should follow when replacing your rear wipers:
- Lift your rear wiper into a standing position – most rear wipers will fold outwards towards you as opposed to upwards with front wipers.
- Place a cloth over your rear windscreen – this will help protect the windscreen in case the arm springs back.
- Locate your wiper blade adaptor – for rear blades, this will normally be a hook-type or specific-fit adaptor.
- Remove the old wiper – disconnect the blade from the adaptor and slide it off the wiper arm. Set it aside for recycling at your local waste collection facility!
- Fit your new rear wiper – using the instructions on the packaging or our helpful fitting guide videos, install your new rear wiper. Rear wipers normally come with a pre-fitted adaptor so you should be able to clip it straight on.
